What is the Focus System (iLs)?
Ron Minson, MD and Edward Hallowell, MD are explaining the multisensory treatment therapy approach.
What is the SSP?
This therapy system has been developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, Chief Scientific Advisor, Unyte iLS and founder of the Polyvagal Theory as explained here.
Through filtered music programs, and Occupational Therapy techniques like self-awareness training, and specialized movements; we achieve increased brain communication and processing: self-regulation, sensory integration, language processing, learning to understand the body’s sensory response, reading fluency through decoding, communication, and expressive language skills. Anxiety, depression, and behavior challenges can be significantly reduced.
Most adult clients receive a mental health - nervous system regulation treatment as basis of their treatment plan. Because traumatic experiences can hinder their healing process and block the progress of recovery. Through filtered music programs, self-awareness training and specialized movements, we achieve nervous system balance, self-regulation, sensory integration, improved sleep and mental health, decreased pain, anxiety, and depression while regaining control and getting back in touch with their body - learning to understand triggers, reactions and feelings.
Feeding therapy is a specialized treatment carried out by our Occupational Therapists designed to assist your child in overcoming challenges with eating. We take a holistic approach with the goal of identifying the root cause of your child’s feeding challenges whether they be medical, structural, oral motor, sensory, behavioral, or experienced based. Treatment sessions include strategies specifically tailored to your child’s needs to make mealtimes enjoyable for the entire family. At BalanSense-Therapy in York, PA, feeding therapy is focused on creating a positive relationship with food and helping your child develop the skills they need to enjoy eating. We will take all of necessary time to assess, consult with you, and helping you every step of the way to feel comfortable helping your child on this journey to be successful. And we are taking the feeding therapy to a next level as we including a new sensory integration approach through nervous system regulation. Our highly trained therapists using in addition latest listening music treatment programs to balance the nervous system; and therefore, decreasing sensory responses, simultaneously, to promote faster and greater outcomes.
Our certified Occupational Therapy team takes a holistic approach and looks at the root of your struggles, recognizing that everyone is unique, and requires a more complex individualized treatment plan. Your therapist will work closely with you, or with the parent/caregiver of a child. We thrive to understand your needs and goals and using interventions backed by evidence-based research to promote progress.
We take pride in our one-on-one and in-office treatment approach that gives our clients what they want and deserve.

Strengthen your Nervous System and calm your Sensory Systems!
Although in-person, face to face appointments are suggested, treatments can be done online for those outside of the area or have scheduling conflicts.
All our treatments are based on balancing the nervous and sensory systems while stimulating the vagus nerve. Our goal is to increase communication and make connections between the brain and the rest of your body which allows you to feel safe, engage with your environment and enables socialization. We are utilizing Unyte equipment that uses specific filtered music frequencies; therefore, enabling us to reach faster and greater outcomes compared to traditional treatment plans.
