Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at kwinter@balansense-therapy.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The length of an Occupational Therapy session can vary depending on the individual's needs and treatment plan. Typically, sessions lasts about 60 min.

It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement during Occupational Therapy sessions. It is also important to wear any necessary assistive devices or braces.

No, BalanSense-Therapy, LLC is a self-pay business and out of network service. We like to ensure  necessary  and quality treatments  to our clients.  Often treatments are limited by insurance plans  due to caps of insurance policies.  Per request, we can submit a superbill.

A superbill is a detailed receipt that clients can submit to their insurance company for possible reimbursement when receiving out-of-network services.

At BalanSense Therapy, we are a private-pay, non-traditional Occupational Therapy practice, which means payment is made directly to our office at the time of service. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may be able to receive partial reimbursement from your insurance company after submitting a superbill.

A superbill typically includes:

  • Client information
  • Provider information and credentials
  • Dates of service
  • Occupational Therapy service codes (CPT codes)
  • Diagnosis codes (ICD-10 codes)
  • Fees paid for services

Please note:

  • Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual insurance plan.
  • We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to ask about your out-of-network Occupational Therapy benefits.
  • BalanSense Therapy does not communicate with insurance companies or guarantee coverage decisions.

We are happy to provide a superbill upon request to support families seeking possible reimbursement for services.

Yes, BalanSense-Therapy, LLC requires over the ear  headphone use for most of their treatments as the Unyte SSP and the Focus iLs equipment suggests.  It is possible to make accommodations for the SSP over a speaker system if necessary; however, best delivery is through a headphone set.

Suggestion: If you are not sure if your child is able to tolerate headphones, it is suggested to try it in home setting first to familiarize your child  to wear them to ensure tolerance and engagement during treatment time.
